The government of Uttar Pradesh has set a new target to generate 22,000 megawatts of solar power in the state. Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath shared this plan while speaking at a program in Gorakhpur. He said the state is working hard to increase the use of renewable energy to meet the growing electricity demand and to protect the environment.
According to the Chief Minister, Uttar Pradesh is moving fast in the field of solar energy. He mentioned that the state has already made important progress in this area, and the new goal will further strengthen the energy sector. He said that solar power will help reduce dependency on traditional energy sources, which are harmful to the environment.
The Chief Minister explained that the government is focusing on both grid-connected and off-grid solar power projects. These projects will provide electricity to people in remote and rural areas where it is difficult to supply power through regular connections. He also said that many farmers are getting benefits from solar pumps, which are helping them in irrigation and saving their money on diesel costs.
In his speech, Yogi Adityanath said that Uttar Pradesh has a huge potential for solar energy because of its climate and the availability of land. The government is planning to use barren lands and rooftops for setting up solar power plants. He added that new policies have been made to encourage private companies and investors to take part in solar energy projects in the state.
The Chief Minister also mentioned that the government has already started working on several solar parks and large solar projects. These efforts will create job opportunities for local people and support economic development in the state. He believes that with the active participation of the public and private sectors, Uttar Pradesh can become a leader in solar energy.
The government is also running awareness programs to educate people about the benefits of solar power. Yogi Adityanath said that using solar energy is not only good for the environment but also helps in reducing electricity bills for common people. The government is confident that the new target will be achieved soon.
