Rajamahendravaram: The Andhra Pradesh government is actively promoting solar energy to create a more sustainable future, said Rajahmundry Rural MLA Gorantla Buchaiah Chowdary. As part of this initiative, Freyr Energy, a leading rooftop solar company operating in Andhra Pradesh and Telangana, has inaugurated its latest Rooftop Solar Experience Centre in Rajahmundry. The centre was inaugurated on Thursday by Freyr Energy Director Radhika Chowdary, alongside Managing Director Saurabh Marda and the company’s team.

MLA Gorantla praised the initiative and highlighted the financial benefits of solar panel systems. He pointed out that households and businesses with electricity bills ranging from ₹10,000 to ₹12,000 per month could save up to ₹3,000 by switching to solar for home and solar for business use. He also emphasized the importance of expanding solar and wind energy to meet the rising electricity demand.

Additionally, he spoke about the PM Surya Ghar Yojana, a Central government scheme offering subsidies to encourage solar adoption. The initiative makes solar installation company services more accessible and affordable for residential users.

MLA Gorantla also highlighted a key development in solar employment, stating that youth from tribal regions like Rampachodavaram have been trained and are now working in solar panel manufacturing units at Sri City. He further stressed the need to scale up solar energy adoption to address future coal shortages, which in turn would help reduce solar panel system costs over time.

Freyr Energy Director Radhika Chowdary shared that the company has been actively implementing solar projects in rural areas like Paderu for over 11 years, bringing sustainable energy solutions to more communities.
