Davis Wright Tremaine LLP has expanded its national energy practice with the addition of Shab Puri as a partner in its San Francisco office. Puri brings a wealth of experience advising clients in the energy, infrastructure, and technology sectors on project development, transactions, and key commercial agreements. His expertise lies in engineering, procurement, and construction (EPC) contracts, as well as supply chain management and long-term service agreements.

With more than two decades in the industry, Puri has worked on a wide range of high-value deals that support the development of critical energy infrastructure. He has advised clients across both conventional and renewable energy sectors, including solar, battery storage, biomass, wind, and hydrogen projects. His experience extends to representing various stakeholders such as project developers, equipment manufacturers, contractors, investors, and financial institutions. His work has been instrumental in helping clients structure complex agreements, navigate regulatory challenges, and optimize operational frameworks.

Before joining Davis Wright Tremaine, Puri was a partner at K&L Gates in San Francisco for nearly four years. Prior to that, he founded and led a boutique law firm in the Bay Area focused on clean energy matters for almost a decade. Earlier in his career, he served as associate general counsel for the U.S. affiliate of a German solar developer and as senior in-house counsel for the world’s largest photovoltaic panel manufacturer.
